Verses 1–11
The successful believers: worship, speech, purity, boundaries, integrity

1. :Certainly, successful are the believers.

2. Those who are humble in their prayers.

3. And those who turn away from vain conversation.

4. And those who pay poor due.

5. And those who guard their private parts.

6. Except from their wives or that their right hands possess, then indeed, they are not blameworthy.

7. Then whoever seeks beyond that, so it is they who are the transgressors.

8. And those who are faithfully true to their trusts and their covenants.

9. And those who guard of their prayers.

10. It is those who are the inheritors.

11. Who shall inherit paradise. They shall abide therein forever.

Qur’an-Only Explanation (23:1–11)

  • 23:1 — “Successful are the believers.”

“Certainly, successful are the believers.”

  • Allah starts by declaring the truth: the real winners are not the richest or strongest—but the ones who truly believe.
  • This “success” is not small success; it is success with Allah and the final success in the Hereafter.

Child meaning:

  • The best people are the ones who believe in Allah with a real heart, not just with words.
The qualities of these successful believers:
Allah now lists what these good believers act like.
Verse 23:1 illustration

  • 23:2 — “Those who are humble in their prayers.”

“Those who are humble in their prayers.”

  • Allah praises believers who pray with calmness, respect, and focus.
  • This means the prayer is not rushed or careless—because they remember they are standing before Allah.

Child meaning:

  • When they pray, they don’t play around.
  • They don’t rush like it’s a race.
  • They stand nicely and remember they are talking to Allah.

Example:

  • Like when you speak to someone very important and kind, you speak properly and listen carefully.
Verse 23:2 illustration

  • 23:3 — “Those who turn away from vain conversation.”

“And those who turn away from vain conversation.”

  • Allah praises believers who avoid useless and harmful talk.
  • Because words can destroy hearts, friendships, and even faith if a person is careless.

Child meaning:

  • They don’t waste their time with:
  • gossip
  • lies
  • rude jokes
  • insulting people
  • silly talk that brings no good

Example:

  • If kids are making fun of someone, the good believer doesn’t join. They walk away.
Verse 23:3 illustration

  • 23:4 — “Those who pay poor due.”

“And those who pay poor due.”

  • Allah praises believers who give Zakah and charity, helping the poor and needy.
  • This shows they are not selfish; they use Allah’s gifts in the way Allah loves.

Child meaning:

  • When Allah gives them money, they don’t keep everything selfishly.
  • They share with people who have less.

Example:

  • Like if you have food and someone has nothing, you help them because Allah loves kindness.
Verse 23:4 illustration

  • 23:5 — “Those who guard their private parts.”

“And those who guard their private parts.”

  • Allah praises believers who protect themselves from shameful and sinful actions.
  • This teaches self-control, cleanliness, and dignity.

Child meaning (simple and clean):

  • They keep their bodies respectful and pure.
  • They don’t do dirty things or follow bad desires.
  • Allah wants people to have self-control and dignity.
Verse 23:5 illustration

  • 23:6 — “Except from their wives… then they are not blameworthy.”

“Except from their wives… then indeed, they are not blameworthy.”

  • Allah explains the lawful place for this relationship: marriage.
  • Inside marriage, it is not sinful—it is correct and protected.

Child meaning:

  • Allah made marriage the safe and correct place for this.
  • So married husband and wife are not doing something wrong.
Verse 23:6 illustration

  • 23:7 — “Whoever seeks beyond that… they are transgressors.”

“Then whoever seeks beyond that, so it is they who are the transgressors.”

  • Allah warns that going outside what He allowed is crossing His limits.
  • Allah’s limits protect people from harm, regret, and corruption.

Child meaning:

  • If a person tries to do it the wrong way, outside marriage, or in a dirty way—then that person is crossing Allah’s limits.

Example:

  • Like a rule in a game: if you cheat, you’re not playing fairly anymore.
Verse 23:7 illustration

  • 23:8 — “They are true to their trusts and covenants.”

“And those who are faithfully true to their trusts and their covenants.”

  • Allah praises believers who are trustworthy and keep promises.
  • Trust is part of faith: honesty, responsibility, and loyalty.

Child meaning:

  • A good believer is someone you can trust.
  • If you give them something to hold, they don’t steal it.
  • If they promise something, they don’t break it.
  • If they agree to something, they stay honest.

Example:

  • If your friend says “I will help you,” and they really do help you — that’s a trustworthy person.
Verse 23:8 illustration

  • 23:9 — “They guard their prayers.”

“And those who guard their prayers.”

  • Allah praises believers who protect their Salah by doing it properly and on time.
  • This shows prayer is not something “small”—it is a pillar and a priority.

Child meaning:

  • They don’t treat Salah like something small.
  • They take it seriously.
  • It means:
  • praying on time
  • not being lazy about it
  • keeping prayer part of your life
Important detail:
Verse 2 talked about how they pray (humble and focused).
Verse 9 talks about protecting prayer (doing it consistently and keeping it safe).

So it’s both:
✅ Focus in prayer
✅ Consistency in prayer
Verse 23:9 illustration

  • 23:10 — “It is those who are the inheritors.”

“It is those who are the inheritors.”

  • Allah says these believers will receive a huge reward like an inheritance.
  • It means: they will be given something priceless, from Allah’s favor.

Child meaning:

  • They will be given something amazing that lasts forever.
  • Like they “win” a reward that is better than anything on earth.
Verse 23:10 illustration

  • 23:11 — “They will inherit Paradise and stay there forever.”

“Who shall inherit Paradise. They shall abide therein forever.”

  • Allah promises them Jannah, and they will never be removed from it.
  • This is permanent joy and safety.

Child meaning:

  • Allah will put them in the most beautiful place ever:
  • no sadness
  • no sickness
  • no fear
  • no death
  • only peace, happiness, and reward
  • And it never ends.
The whole message in one simple sentence:
“The real winners are the believers who pray properly, avoid useless sins, help the poor, stay pure, keep promises, and protect their prayers. Those people will live in Paradise forever.”
Verses 12–22
Human creation, death, resurrection, and provision as measured signs

12. And certainly, We created man from an extract of clay.

13. Then We placed him as a (sperm) drop in a firm lodging.

14. Then We fashioned the drop into a clot... then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the best of creators.

15. Then indeed you, after that, will surely die.

16. Then indeed you, on the Day of Judgment, will be raised.

17. And certainly, We have created above you seven heavens, and We are not unaware of the creation.

18. And We sent down from the sky water in a measured amount, and We gave it lodging in the earth. And indeed, We are Able to take it away.

19. Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapevines...

20. And a tree that springs forth from Mount Sinai that grows oil and relish for those who eat.

21. And indeed, in the cattle there is surely a lesson for you...

22. And on them and on the ship you are carried.

Qur’an-Only Explanation (23:12–22)

  • 23:12 — “We created man from an extract of clay.”

“And certainly, We created man from an extract of clay.”

  • Allah tells us the beginning of human creation.
  • The first human was created from earth / clay.

Child meaning:

  • Allah made humans from the same stuff the ground is made from.
  • ✅ Like how you can make shapes from clay, Allah created انسان (human) from earth.
Verse 23:11 illustration
Verse 23:12 illustration

  • 23:13 — “Then We placed him as a drop in a firm lodging.”

“Then We placed him as a (sperm) drop in a firm lodging.”

  • Allah explains how humans begin as something very tiny.
  • This tiny beginning is placed in a safe and protected place.

Child meaning (simple and clean):

  • Every person starts very small inside their mother’s tummy, in a safe place Allah made.
  • ✅ “Firm lodging” = the mother’s womb (a protected place).
Verse 23:13 illustration

  • 23:14 — “Then We fashioned the drop into a clot… then another creation…”

“Then We fashioned the drop into a clot… then We brought it forth as another creation…”

  • Allah shows that He grows the baby in stages, step by step.
  • What starts tiny becomes a complete human being by Allah’s power.

Child meaning:

  • Allah grows the baby little by little:
  • small → growing → forming → becoming a full baby
  • Then the baby is born and becomes a new person.
✅ Allah is showing: Only Allah can create like this.

So Allah says:
“Blessed be Allah, the best of creators.”

Meaning: Allah is the greatest at making things. No one can create like Him.
Verse 23:14 illustration

  • 23:15 — “After that, you will surely die.”

“Then indeed you, after that, will surely die.”

  • Allah reminds us that life on earth is not forever.
  • Every human will reach death one day.

Child meaning:

  • Every human will die one day.
  • ✅ Even strong people
  • ✅ Even rich people
  • ✅ Even kings
  • Nobody stays on earth forever.
Verse 23:15 illustration

  • 23:16 — “Then on the Day of Judgment, you will be raised.”

“Then indeed you, on the Day of Judgment, will be raised.”

  • Allah promises that death is not the end.
  • Everyone will be brought back for judgment and justice.

Child meaning:

  • After people die, Allah will wake everyone up again on Judgment Day, to be judged fairly.
  • ✅ Like waking up from sleep, but this time it’s for the final meeting with Allah.
Verse 23:16 illustration

  • 23:17 — “We created above you seven heavens…”

“And certainly, We have created above you seven heavens…”

  • Allah points to the sky and universe as a sign of His greatness.
  • Everything above us is perfectly designed and under Allah’s control.

Child meaning:

  • Allah built layers of skies above the earth, perfectly designed.
  • ✅ Allah is saying: “I made the whole universe above you, and I know everything happening.”
Verse 23:17 illustration

  • 23:18 — “We sent down water in a measured amount… and stored it in the earth…”

“And We sent down from the sky water in a measured amount, and We gave it lodging in the earth…”

  • Allah controls the rain and gives it in the right amount.
  • Allah also stores water inside the earth for people to benefit.

Child meaning:

  • Rain is not random. Allah controls it.
  • ✅ Not too much to destroy everything
  • ✅ Not too little to kill plants
  • Allah can store it inside the earth so we can drink it.
  • And Allah says: ✅ “I can take it away too.”
Lesson:
Water is a gift. We must not waste it.
Verse 23:18 illustration

  • 23:19 — “With that water, We made gardens of date-palms and grapevines…”

“Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapevines…”

  • Allah shows how rain becomes food and beauty on earth.
  • He grows fruits and gardens for people to enjoy and eat.

Child meaning:

  • Rain helps plants grow:
  • 🌴 dates
  • 🍇 grapes
  • and many yummy fruits
Allah is showing:
“Look how I feed you.”
Verse 23:19 illustration

  • 23:20 — “A tree from Mount Sinai that grows oil and relish…”

“And a tree that springs forth from Mount Sinai that grows oil and relish for those who eat.”

  • Allah reminds us of useful foods He created, like the olive tree.
  • It produces oil and good food for people.

Child meaning:

  • Allah made trees that give useful things:
  • 🫒 olives
  • 🫙 oil
  • 🍞 food that tastes good with meals
  • So people can eat and benefit.
Verse 23:20 illustration

  • 23:21 — “In the cattle there is a lesson for you…”

“And indeed, in the cattle there is surely a lesson for you…”

  • Allah tells us to reflect on animals and their benefits.
  • These animals are signs of Allah’s mercy to humans.

Child meaning:

  • Allah made animals to help humans:
  • 🥛 milk to drink
  • 🍖 food to eat
  • 🧥 wool/leather to use
  • They are useful and peaceful.
So Allah is saying:
“Think about these animals and learn.”
Verse 23:21 illustration

  • 23:22 — “On them and on the ship you are carried.”

“And on them and on the ship you are carried.”

  • Allah reminds us that He made ways for people to travel.
  • Animals and ships are part of Allah’s provision for humanity.

Child meaning:

  • Allah gave you transport:
  • 🐪 riding animals
  • 🚢 ships on the sea
  • So you can move around and reach places.
Verse 23:22 illustration

The BIG lesson Allah wants you to understand:

“I created you.
I will take you when you die.
I will bring you back on Judgment Day.
And I gave you everything you need: sky, water, food, trees, animals, and travel.
So remember Me, obey Me, and be grateful.”
⭐ Child summary (super simple):

🧱 “I made humans from earth.”
👶 “I grow humans inside their mothers.”
☠️ “Everyone will die.”
🌅 “Everyone will rise again.”
🌌 “I made the skies.”
🌧️ “I send rain.”
🌴 “I grow fruits.”
🫒 “I grow special trees.”
🐄 “I made animals help you.”
🚢 “I gave you travel.”

✅ So we should thank Allah, obey Allah, and prepare for the Day we return to Him.
Verses 23–30
Noah: elites mock, Allah saves

23. And certainly, We sent Noah to his people...

24. But the chiefs... said: “This is not but a human being like you...”

25. “He is not but a man in whom is a madness...”

26. He said: “My Lord, help me because they have denied me.”

27. So We inspired him: “Make the ship within Our sight and Our inspiration...”

28. “...say, praise be to Allah who has saved us...”

29. “...cause me to land at a blessed landing place...”

30. Indeed, in that are sure signs. And indeed, We are ever putting (mankind) to the test.

Qur’an-Only Explanation (23:23–30) — Prophet Nuh (Noah)

  • 23:23 — “We sent Noah to his people…”

“And certainly, We sent Noah to his people…”

  • Allah chose Prophet Nuh and sent him to guide his people.
  • Nuh came to teach them to worship Allah and stop doing wrong.

Child meaning:

  • Allah sent Nuh like a teacher and a messenger to say:
  • “Worship Allah only. Stop doing wrong.”
  • ✅ Nuh didn’t come with his own ideas.
  • ✅ He came with Allah’s message.
Verse 23:23 illustration

  • 23:24 — “But the chiefs said: ‘This is only a human like you…’”

“But the chiefs of his people said: ‘This is not but a human being like you…’”

  • The leaders didn’t want to listen to Nuh.
  • They tried to make other people reject him too.

Child meaning:

  • The bosses of the town said:
  • “Why should we listen to him? He’s just a normal person like us.”
  • They thought a messenger must be something “special” like an angel, so they refused.
  • ✅ But Allah can choose any human to be a prophet.
Verse 23:24 illustration

  • 23:25 — “He is just a man with madness…”

“He is not but a man in whom is a madness…”

  • Instead of thinking and listening, they insulted Nuh.
  • They called him crazy so people would ignore him.

Child meaning:

  • They started calling him names, like:
  • “He’s not normal. Ignore him.”
  • This is what bad people do when they don’t want truth:
  • They insult, mock, and lie about good people.
Verse 23:25 illustration

  • 23:26 — Nuh said: “My Lord, help me because they denied me.”

“He said: ‘My Lord, help me because they have denied me.’”

  • Nuh asked Allah for help because his people rejected him.
  • He did not react with evil; he turned to Allah in duʿā.

Child meaning:

  • Nuh was tired and hurt, but he stayed respectful.
  • He didn’t fight them in an evil way.
  • He made duʿā (a prayer) to Allah and said:
  • “Ya Allah, help me. They are not listening.”
  • ✅ This teaches us: when people are unfair, go to Allah.
Verse 23:26 illustration

  • 23:27 — Allah inspired him: “Make the ship within Our sight…”

“So We inspired him: ‘Make the ship within Our sight and Our inspiration…’”

  • Allah told Nuh exactly what to do: build the Ark (a big ship).
  • Allah promised protection and guidance during this mission.

Child meaning:

  • Allah told Nuh:
  • “Build a ship. I am watching you and guiding you. Don’t worry, I will protect you.”
“Within Our sight” means:
Allah is watching and protecting him. Nothing is hidden from Allah.

“With Our inspiration” means:
Allah taught him how to build it correctly.
Verse 23:27 illustration

  • 23:28 — “Say: Praise be to Allah who saved us…”

“...say, praise be to Allah who has saved us…”

  • Allah taught Nuh to thank Him after being rescued.
  • After safety comes gratitude.

Child meaning:

  • When Allah rescues you from danger, you must say:
  • “Alhamdulillah (All praise is for Allah).”
  • Because Allah is the One who saves.
  • ✅ This teaches us: always thank Allah after a blessing.
Verse 23:28 illustration

  • 23:29 — “Cause me to land at a blessed landing place…”

“...cause me to land at a blessed landing place…”

  • Nuh asked Allah to bring them safely to a good place after the flood.
  • He asked for a landing full of blessing and goodness.

Child meaning:

  • After the flood, Nuh made duʿā like this:
  • “Ya Allah, let us land somewhere safe, peaceful, and full of good.”
  • ✅ He didn’t just want “any place.”
  • ✅ He wanted a place with Allah’s blessings.
Verse 23:29 illustration

  • 23:30 — “In that are signs. And We test people.”

“Indeed, in that are sure signs. And indeed, We are ever putting (mankind) to the test.”

  • Allah says this story contains signs and lessons for everyone.
  • And Allah tests people to show who is sincere and who is stubborn.

Child meaning:

  • Allah is saying:
  • “This story is not just history. It is a sign and a lesson.”
  • And Allah tests people like:
  • Will you listen to the truth?
  • Will you follow Allah even if others laugh?
  • Will you stay patient like Nuh?
  • ✅ Tests show who is sincere and who is stubborn.
Verse 23:30 illustration

✅ The whole story in a simple child summary:

Prophet Nuh came and said:
“Worship Allah. Stop doing wrong.”

But the leaders said:
“He’s just a human.”
“He’s crazy.”

So Nuh made duʿā:
“My Lord, help me.”

Allah told him:
“Build the ship. I am protecting you.”

Allah saved Nuh and the believers.
Then Nuh thanked Allah and asked:
“Ya Allah, let us land safely.”

Allah says:
“This is a sign and a test for people.”
⭐ Big Lesson (easy words):

✅ Good people might be mocked, but Allah supports them.
✅ When people reject truth, they may insult instead of thinking.
✅ Always make duʿā and trust Allah.
✅ Always say Alhamdulillah after Allah saves you.
✅ Life is a test: will we obey Allah or follow stubborn people?
Verses 31–50
Another denied messenger; “no resurrection” claim collapses; Moses and Jesus mentioned

31. Then We raised after them another generation.

32. And We sent among them a messenger of their own...

33. And said the chiefs... “This is not but a human being like you...”

34. “And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be sure losers.”

35. “Does he promise you... you shall be brought forth.”

36. “How far, how far is that which you are promised.”

37. “It is not but our life of the world...”

38. “He is not but a man who has invented a lie against Allah...”

39. He said: “O my Lord, help me because they denied me.”

40. He (Allah) said: “In a little, they will surely be regretful.”

41. So an awful cry seized them in truth...

42. Then We brought forth after them other generations.

43. No nation can precede its term...

44. Then We sent Our messengers in succession...

45. Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron...

46. To Pharaoh and his chiefs...

47. “Shall we believe in two mortals like ourselves...”

48. So they denied them both...

49. And certainly, We gave Moses the Scripture...

Meaning:

  • The leaders rejected the prophet because he was human.

  • 23:36 — “How far, how far is that promise.”

  • 23:37 — “It is only this worldly life…”

Meaning:

  • They believed there is no next life.

Child meaning:

  • ✅ They wanted to live freely with no rules.
Verse 23:37 illustration

  • 23:38 — “He invented a lie against Allah…”

  • ✅ When people hate the truth, they attack the messenger.
Verse 23:38 illustration

  • 23:39 — The messenger said: “My Lord, help me…”

Meaning:

  • The prophet asked Allah for help because the people denied him.

Child meaning:

  • The prophet stayed calm and made duʿā: “Ya Allah, help me. They are rejecting me.”
  • ✅ This teaches: when people are unfair, talk to Allah.
Verse 23:39 illustration

  • 23:40 — Allah said: “Soon they will be regretful.”

Meaning:

  • Allah warned that the rejecters will feel sorry soon.

Child meaning:

  • Allah is saying: “They will soon realize they were wrong.”
  • ✅ But by then, it may be too late.
Verse 23:40 illustration

  • 23:41 — “A terrible cry seized them…”

Child meaning:

  • Allah gave Musa a “guide” for people to follow.
  • ✅ Like a perfect rulebook from Allah.
Verse 23:49 illustration

  • 23:50 — “We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign…”

  • Allah made Isa (Jesus) and Maryam (Mary) a miracle sign.

Child meaning:

  • Allah made the story of Maryam and Isa a special sign to show Allah’s power.
  • ✅ Allah can create in amazing ways that humans cannot.
⭐ The BIG Lesson Allah is teaching (super simple):
People keep doing wrong. Allah sends a messenger to warn them. Proud leaders say: “He’s just a human.” They deny the Hereafter and call the prophet a liar. The prophet asks Allah for help. Allah punishes the stubborn people, then brings new generations after them. Allah keeps sending guidance because He is merciful.

✅ So we should listen to Allah before it becomes too late.
✅ Child Summary (one paragraph):
Allah made new people after old people. He sent them prophets from their own people to guide them. But the proud leaders mocked the prophets, said they were just humans, and denied the Day of Judgment. They called the prophets liars. The prophets asked Allah for help. Allah punished the stubborn people, then brought new generations. Allah continued sending prophets like Musa and Harun, and gave books and signs like Isa and Maryam, so people can believe and be guided.
Verses 51–56
One religion; sect division; worldly gifts are not proof of truth

51. O (you) messengers, eat from the good things, and do righteous deeds...

52. And indeed, this religion of yours is one religion...

53. But they (mankind) have divided their affair among them into sects...

54. So leave them in their error until a time.

55. Do they think that what We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons.

56. We hasten for them with good things. But they perceive not.

Qur’an-Only Explanation (23:51–56)

  • 23:51 — “O messengers, eat from the good things, and do righteous deeds…”

  • He tells them two things:
  • ✅ Eat what is good and clean
  • ✅ Do good actions

Child meaning:

  • It’s like Allah is saying:
  • “My messengers, don’t eat dirty or bad things.
  • Eat what is clean and good.
  • And always do good things.”

Why does Allah say “eat good things” first?

  • Because what you eat can affect your heart and behavior.
  • If you eat what is clean and halal (allowed), it helps you stay pure inside and outside.

Simple lesson:

  • ✅ A good person tries to live clean and do good.
Verse 23:50 illustration
Verse 23:51 illustration

  • 23:52 — “And indeed, this religion of yours is one religion…”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah is saying:
  • ✅ The true way is one.
  • Not many religions with different rules and different gods.
  • It is one religion:
  • • Worship Allah alone
  • • Obey Allah
  • • Follow His guidance

Child meaning:

  • It’s like Allah is saying:
  • “All of you are supposed to follow one same truth.
  • One God. One message.”

Simple lesson:

  • ✅ Allah’s truth is not confusing.
  • ✅ It is one clear path.
Verse 23:52 illustration

  • 23:53 — “But they have divided their affair among them into sects…”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah says people didn’t stay united.
  • Instead, they broke into groups.
  • They started saying:
  • “We are the right ones!”
  • “No, WE are the right ones!”
  • “Our group is better!”
  • And they began fighting and arguing.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like a teacher gave the whole class one set of rules,
  • but the class split into teams and each team said:
  • “No, our way is better than the other team.”
  • Instead of following the teacher properly.

Simple lesson:

  • ✅ People make mistakes when they follow group pride instead of truth.
Verse 23:53 illustration

  • 23:54 — “So leave them in their error until a time.”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah tells the Prophet:
  • “Leave them for now. Let them continue for a while.”
  • This means Allah is giving them time.
  • Allah is not rushing to punish them immediately.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like a parent saying:
  • “Leave that child for now…
  • He wants to be stubborn.
  • He will learn soon.”

Simple lesson:

  • ✅ Allah gives people time to wake up.
  • ✅ But time will end.
Verse 23:54 illustration

  • 23:55 — “Do they think that what We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons…”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah is talking about people who have:
  • • lots of money
  • • many children
  • • a good life
  • But they are disobedient and arrogant.
  • Allah says:
  • “Do they think that because they have money and kids, they are special?”
  • Meaning they think:
  • “Allah must love us, that’s why we have so much!”
  • But that is not always true.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like a naughty child who gets many toys, and he says:
  • “See! I’m the best! I’m always right!”
  • But toys don’t prove someone is good.

Simple lesson:

  • ✅ Money and children are not proof of being right.
Verse 23:55 illustration

  • 23:56 — “We hasten for them with good things. But they perceive not.”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah says:
  • “We are giving them good things quickly…”
  • But they don’t understand the real reason.
  • Sometimes Allah gives people lots of nice things…
  • Not because they are good…
  • But because:
  • • it is a test
  • • or it is a warning
  • • or they are being given time before judgment

Child meaning:

  • Imagine a student never listens in class,
  • but the teacher still lets him keep playing and having fun.
  • The child thinks:
  • “Nothing will happen. I’m safe.”
  • But the teacher is actually giving him time…
  • and later there will be a test.
Verses 57–77
True believers fear Allah; the Qur’an is recited yet rejected; punishment opens the door

57. Indeed, those who are apprehensive from fear of their Lord.

58. And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord.

59. And those who do not assign partners with their Lord.

60. And those who give that which they give with their hearts full of fear...

61. It is those who hasten in good deeds...

62. And We do not lay a burden on a soul beyond his capacity...

63. But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Quran)...

64. Until, when We seize their affluent ones with the punishment...

65. “Groan not in supplication this day...”

66. “Indeed My verses were recited to you...”

67. “In arrogance regarding it (the Quran), telling fables...”

68. Then have they not pondered over the word (the Quran)...

69. Or did they not recognize their messenger...

70. Or do they say: “There is a madness in him.”

71. And if the truth had followed their desires...

72. Or do you ask them for recompense...

73. And indeed, you call them to the straight path.

74. Those who do not believe in the Hereafter deviate.

75. Even if We removed distress, they would persist.

76. We seized them with punishment, but they did not humble themselves.

77. Until the door of severe punishment opens, they despair.

  • but they still worry:
  • ✅ “Did I do it sincerely?”
  • ✅ “Did Allah accept it?”
  • ✅ “Was my heart clean?”
  • They don’t act proud.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like a kid who gives a gift to the teacher but still feels nervous:
  • “I hope it’s good enough.”
  • Not like:
  • “I’m the best! Look at me!”
Verse 23:60 illustration

  • 23:61 — “It is those who hasten in good deeds…”

What it means:

  • Some people act like they are blind inside.
  • The Qur’an is clear, but they don’t want to understand.

  • but because they don’t want to.
Verse 23:63 illustration

  • 23:64 — “Until We seize their affluent ones with punishment…”

What it means:

  • Allah gives them time.
  • Even the rich and powerful people among them…
  • when punishment comes, they can’t escape.

  • Even if someone is rich and feels untouchable:
  • “Nothing can happen to me…”
  • Allah shows them:
  • “You are not stronger than Me.”
Verse 23:64 illustration

  • 23:65 — “Groan not in supplication this day…”

What it means:

  • When punishment comes, some people cry and beg.
  • But Allah says:
  • “Today, don’t cry now.”
  • Because they had chances before… and ignored them.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like someone who kept breaking the rules all year…
  • then on the last day they cry:
  • “Please don’t punish me!”
  • But they already had many warnings.
Verse 23:65 illustration

  • 23:66 — “My verses were recited to you…”

  • 23:68 — “Have they not pondered over the word…”

Meaning:

  • Allah says:
  • “Why don’t they think deeply?”
  • If they truly thought, they would realize it is truth.
Verse 23:68 illustration

  • 23:69 — “Or did they not recognize their messenger…”

Meaning:

  • They knew the messenger.
  • They knew he was honest.

  • “He is crazy.”

Child meaning:

  • This is what people do when they have no argument.
  • They don’t answer the truth…
  • they insult the truth-teller.
Verse 23:70 illustration

  • ✅ Verse 71: If the Truth Followed Their Wants
  • 23:71 — “If the truth had followed their desires…”

Meaning:

  • If Allah just followed what humans wanted…
  • the world would be ruined.
  • Because humans want different things:
  • • greed
  • • ego
  • • cheating
  • • wrong desires

Child meaning:

  • It’s like a class where every kid makes their own rules.
  • It becomes chaos.
  • ✅ Truth can’t follow people’s feelings.
  • People must follow truth.
Verse 23:71 illustration

  • ✅ Verses 72–73: The Prophet Wants Nothing Except to Guide
  • 23:72 — “Do you ask them for recompense…”

Meaning:

  • Allah says:
  • ✅ The Prophet is not asking them for money.
  • He isn’t doing it for profit.
  • So they can’t say:
  • “He only wants something from us.”
Verse 23:72 illustration

  • 23:73 — “You call them to the straight path.”

Meaning:

  • The message is simple:
  • ✅ Come to the straight path:
  • • Worship Allah alone
  • • Live right
  • • Prepare for the Hereafter
Verse 23:73 illustration

  • ✅ Verses 74–77: Why They Don’t Change
  • 23:74 — “Those who do not believe in the Hereafter deviate.”

Meaning:

  • When people don’t believe in Judgment Day…
  • they go off the road.
  • Because they think:
  • “No punishment is coming, so I can do anything.”
Verse 23:74 illustration

  • 23:75 — “Even if We removed distress, they would persist.”

Meaning:

  • Even if Allah helps them and removes their problems…
  • they go back to their stubbornness.

Child meaning:

  • Like a kid who says:
  • “I’ll behave if you help me!”

Meaning:

  • If someone keeps ignoring every warning…
  • a stronger punishment comes…
  • and they feel trapped with no escape.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like ignoring small warnings again and again…
  • until the big consequence comes.
⭐ The BIG Lesson (Super Simple):
✅ The good people believe in Allah, fear disappointing Him, worship Him alone, rush to do good deeds, and stay humble even when doing good.

❌ The stubborn people don’t think about the Qur’an, mock the truth, attack the messenger, reject the Hereafter, and don’t change even after warnings.

✅ Allah is fair and gives time… but if people refuse again and again… time will run out.
✅ Child Summary (One Paragraph):
Allah describes the best people as those who love Allah, believe in His signs, worship Him alone, and rush to do good deeds while still staying humble and worried if Allah accepted their actions. Allah is always fair and never gives a person more than they can handle. But some people ignore the Qur’an, act arrogant, and call the truth “stories” or insult the messenger because they don’t want to obey. Even when Allah warns them, they still don’t change. Allah gives them time, but if they stay stubborn, the time ends and they face consequences.
Verses 78–89
Senses, life/death, day/night; forced admissions: “It belongs to Allah”

78. He created for you hearing, sight, and hearts. Little is thanks you give.

79. He dispersed you on the earth... to Him you shall be gathered.

80. He gives life and causes death... night and day...

81. They say what the ancients said.

82. “When we are dead... shall we be raised?”

83. “Legends of the ancient.”

84. Say: “To whom belongs the earth...?”

85. They will say: “To Allah.”

86. Say: “Who is Lord of the seven heavens...?”

87. They will say: “To Allah.”

89. They will say: “To Allah.”

Qur’an-Only Explanation (23:79–89)

  • Verses 79–80: Allah Controls Life, Death, and the Whole World
Verse 23:77 illustration

  • 23:79 — “He dispersed you on the earth… to Him you shall be gathered.”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah spread people all over the earth.
  • Different countries, different towns, different families.
  • But one day:
  • ✅ Allah will gather everyone back to Him.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like Allah made a big playground (earth),
  • and He let children play in different areas.
  • But later Allah will say:
  • “Everyone come back now.”
  • ✅ That “coming back” is the Day of Judgment.

Lesson:

  • Even if people live far apart, Allah sees all of them, and everyone returns to Allah.
Verse 23:79 illustration

  • 23:80 — “He gives life and causes death… night and day…”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah is the One who:
  • ✅ gives life
  • ✅ takes life (death)
  • ✅ makes the night come
  • ✅ makes the day come
  • Allah controls time and the world.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like Allah is the Owner of a giant light switch:
  • Night = lights off
  • Day = lights on
  • And Allah controls when it changes.

Lesson:

  • Only Allah has power over life and death and time.
Verse 23:80 illustration

  • ✅ Verses 81–83: The Excuse of Some People
  • 23:81 — “They say what the ancients said.”

What Allah is saying:

  • Some people don’t want to believe.
  • So they repeat old excuses that people used long ago.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like someone copying the same wrong answer over and over, saying:
  • “People always said this, so I’ll say it too.”
Verse 23:81 illustration

  • 23:82 — “When we are dead… shall we be raised?”

What they are saying:

  • They are mocking and doubting resurrection.
  • They say:
  • “If we die and become dust, how can we come back alive?”

Child meaning:

  • It’s like someone breaking a toy and saying:
  • “This will never be fixed again.”
  • But they forget:
  • ✅ Allah made them the first time, so Allah can bring them back again.
Verse 23:82 illustration

  • 23:83 — “Legends of the ancients.”

What they are saying:

  • They say:
  • “These are just old stories. Not real.”
  • So instead of thinking seriously, they mock it.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like someone hearing the truth and replying:
  • “That’s just a fairy tale.”
  • Because they don’t want rules.
Verse 23:83 illustration

  • ✅ Verses 84–89: Allah Uses Simple Questions to Prove the Truth

What Allah is showing:

  • Now Allah gives the Prophet easy questions to ask them.
  • And the shocking part is:
  • ✅ Even those who reject still know the answers.

  • 23:84 — “Say: To whom belongs the earth?”

Meaning:

  • Allah tells the Prophet to ask:
  • “Who owns the earth?”
Verse 23:84 illustration

  • 23:85 — “They will say: To Allah.”

Meaning:

  • Even they will admit:
  • “The earth belongs to Allah.”

Child meaning:

  • It’s like they know the Owner is Allah…
  • but they still refuse to obey Him.
Verse 23:85 illustration

  • 23:86 — “Say: Who is Lord of the seven heavens?”

Meaning:

  • Ask them:
  • “Who controls the skies and everything above?”
Verse 23:86 illustration

  • 23:87 — “They will say: To Allah.”

Meaning:

  • Even they admit:
  • “Allah is the Lord of the heavens.”
Verse 23:87 illustration

  • 23:88 — “Say: In whose hand is sovereignty of everything?”

Meaning:

  • Ask them:
  • “Who controls EVERYTHING?”
  • “Who has power over all things?”

“Sovereignty” means:

  • ✅ the real King
  • ✅ the real controller
  • ✅ the One who decides everything
Verse 23:88 illustration

  • 23:89 — “They will say: To Allah.”

Meaning:

  • Even they will say:
  • “Allah controls everything.”
⭐ The BIG Point Allah is making (Super simple):
Allah is showing something very important:

✅ They KNOW Allah is the Owner.
✅ They KNOW Allah is the King.
✅ They KNOW Allah controls everything.

But still…
❌ they don’t obey Him.
❌ they mock resurrection.
❌ they act like there will be no return.

So Allah is showing:
“You already know the truth… but you are refusing it.”
✅ Child Summary (One Paragraph):
Allah spread people across the earth, but one day everyone will return to Him. Allah is the one who gives life and death and makes night and day. Some people copy the same old excuses and say resurrection is impossible and that it’s just stories. But Allah tells the Prophet to ask them simple questions: “Who owns the earth?” “Who controls the heavens?” “Who controls everything?” And even they answer, “Allah.” So Allah is showing that they already know Allah is the true King, but they still refuse to obey.
Verses 90–98
Allah has no son/partner; repel evil with better; seek refuge from devils

90. We brought them the truth...

91. Allah has not taken any son... nor any god with Him...

92. Knower of the invisible and visible...

93. “My Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised.”

94. “...make me not among the wrongdoing people.”

95. Allah is able to show what is promised.

96. Repel evil with what is better.

97. Seek refuge from the suggestions of the evil ones.

98. Seek refuge lest they be present.

Qur’an-Only Explanation (23:90–98)

  • Verses 90–92: Allah Brought the Truth, and Allah Is One
Verse 23:89 illustration

  • 23:90 — “We brought them the truth…”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah sent the real truth to people.
  • Not guesses. Not opinions. Not fairy tales.
  • ✅ Real guidance from Allah.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like Allah gave people the correct answers to life:
  • “This is the right way. Follow it.”
  • But some people still reject it.
Verse 23:90 illustration

  • 23:91 — “Allah has not taken any son… nor any god with Him…”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah is teaching something very important:
  • ✅ Allah has no son
  • ✅ Allah has no partner
  • ✅ Allah has no other god with Him
  • Allah is ONE and Unique.

Why is this important?

  • Because people sometimes try to make Allah seem like humans:
  • “Allah has a child”
  • “Allah has helpers”
  • “Allah shares power”
  • But Allah says:
  • No. I am not like humans.
  • I am alone in being God.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like saying:
  • “There is only ONE King of the whole universe, and it is Allah.”
  • No one shares His throne.
Verse 23:91 illustration

  • 23:92 — “Knower of the invisible and visible…”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah knows everything:
  • ✅ things we can see
  • ✅ things we cannot see

Examples:

  • • what people say out loud
  • • what people hide in their hearts
  • • what happened before you were born
  • • what will happen tomorrow
  • • angels, jinn, hidden things
  • Allah knows all of it.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like Allah has a perfect “super vision” and “super hearing”:
  • ✅ He sees everything.
  • ✅ He knows everything.
  • Nothing can be hidden from Allah.
Verse 23:92 illustration

  • ✅ Verses 93–95: A Beautiful Duʿā (Prayer) for Protection
  • 23:93 — “My Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised…”

What it means:

  • The Prophet is making duʿā to Allah.
  • He is saying:
  • “My Lord, if You show me the punishment that some people are promised…”
  • Meaning: if Allah brings consequences or punishment for stubborn people…
Verse 23:93 illustration

  • 23:94 — “…make me not among the wrongdoing people.”

What it means:

  • He asks Allah:
  • “Don’t let me be with the wrong people.”

This teaches something huge:

  • Even if someone else is doing wrong…
  • a believer must ask Allah:
  • “Keep me safe. Keep me righteous.”

Child meaning:

  • It’s like saying:
  • “Allah, if bad kids get punished for being bad, please don’t put me with them.
  • I want to be with the good people.”
Verse 23:94 illustration

  • 23:95 — “Allah is able to show what is promised.”

What Allah is saying:

  • Allah can bring anything He وعد (promised).
  • If Allah said something will happen…
  • ✅ it can happen anytime
  • ✅ nothing can stop Allah

Child meaning:

  • It’s like Allah is saying:
  • “If I say something will happen, it WILL happen.
  • I have full power.”
Verse 23:95 illustration

  • ✅ Verse 96: How a Believer Responds to Bad Behavior
  • 23:96 — “Repel evil with what is better.”

What Allah is saying:

  • If someone treats you badly…
  • don’t fight them with the same badness.
  • Instead:
  • ✅ respond with what is better.

Examples (child friendly):

  • If someone insults you: you speak calmly
  • If someone is rude: you stay respectful
  • If someone hurts you: you don’t become evil like them

Important note:

  • This doesn’t mean you allow ظلم (injustice).
  • It means you keep your heart clean and you don’t become a bad person too.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like:
  • “When someone throws dirt at you, don’t throw dirt back.
  • Stay clean.”
Verse 23:96 illustration

  • ✅ Verses 97–98: Ask Allah for Protection from Evil Whispering
  • 23:97 — “Seek refuge from the suggestions of the evil ones.”

What Allah is saying:

  • Ask Allah to protect you from evil whispers.
  • These whispers can be like thoughts that push you toward sin:
  • “Do the wrong thing.”
  • “Lie.”
  • “Be arrogant.”
  • “Hate people.”
  • “Disobey Allah.”
  • These thoughts can come from evil forces that want humans to fall.

Child meaning:

  • It’s like invisible bad “voices” trying to trick you.
  • So Allah teaches us:
  • ✅ Ask Allah to protect you.
Verse 23:97 illustration

  • 23:98 — “Seek refuge lest they be present.”

What Allah is saying:

  • Ask Allah not only to protect you from whispers…
  • but also to keep evil influences away from you completely.

Meaning:

  • ✅ “Don’t let evil come near me.”
  • ✅ “Don’t let it surround me.”

Child meaning:

  • It’s like saying:
  • “Allah, don’t just stop the bad thoughts…
  • don’t even let the bad influence stand next to me.”
⭐ The BIG Lesson (Super Simple):
✅ The Qur’an is the truth.
✅ Allah is One and has no son and no partner.
✅ Allah knows everything, seen and unseen.
✅ Always ask Allah to keep you away from wrongdoing.
✅ Be strong: fight evil with goodness.
✅ Always ask Allah for protection from evil whispers and influence.
✅ Child Summary (One Paragraph):
Allah brought people the truth, but some still reject it. Allah explains that He has no son and no partner, because Allah is the one true God. Allah knows everything we see and everything we cannot see. The Prophet makes duʿā asking Allah to keep him away from wrong people if punishment comes. Allah reminds that He can bring what He promised anytime. Allah also teaches us to answer bad behavior with something better, and to always ask Allah to protect us from evil whispers and from evil being near us.
Verses 99–118
Death regret, barrier, trumpet, scales, final dialogue, and closing prayer

99. Until, when death comes... “My Lord, send me back.”

100. “That I might do righteousness...” No... a barrier until the day raised.

101. When the trumpet is blown, no kinship...

102. Heavy scales: successful.

103. Light scales: lost selves; Hell.

104. Fire burns faces...

105. “Were not My verses recited...”

106. “Our evil fortune overcame us...”

107. “Bring us out...”

108. “Remain... and do not speak to Me.”

109. A party of Allah’s slaves: “Our Lord, we have believed...”

110. Mockery made you forget remembrance.

111. Rewarded for patience.

112. “How long did you stay on earth...”

113. “A day or part of a day...”

114. “You stayed not but a little...”

115. “Did you think We created you without purpose...”

116. Exalted is Allah... Lord of the Noble Throne.

117. Whoever calls another god... no proof...

⭐ The BIG Lesson (Super Simple):
✅ You only get one real life to choose.
✅ After death, you can’t come back to fix it.
✅ On Judgment Day, everyone stands alone.
✅ Good deeds matter.
✅ Don’t mock believers.
✅ Life is short, so use it wisely.
✅ Allah made you with a purpose.
✅ Worship Allah alone.
✅ Always ask Allah for forgiveness and mercy.
✅ Child Summary (One Paragraph):
When people die, some of them will wish they could return to life to do good, but Allah says they cannot come back. One day the trumpet will be blown and everyone will be judged fairly, and family won’t be able to help each other. People with heavy good deeds will succeed, but those with light good deeds will lose. Allah reminds them that His verses were recited but they ignored them. The believers who were mocked will be rewarded for being patient. On that day, life on earth will feel very short. Allah says He did not create humans for no reason, and we must worship Him alone and always ask Him to forgive and have mercy.
